Home → EstiMate Version 1 → How Do I... → How can I do estimates or invoices with different tax rates?
Whereas EstiMate supports one tax rate only through the tax box in the configuration. Other tax rates can be added on-the-fly using the free-form plugin.
Procedure:
1. Click Add Item > Free-Form.
2. Input a description.
3. Make sure flat-rate item is indicated and a quantity of 1 is selected.
4. Click the calculator icon on the lower left. Figure the tax and input the amount in the "amount each" field.
5. Uncheck the tax box. (you don't want to add tax on top of tax)
6. Press the calculate button and the green check mark to save and add the tax to the quote.
Alternative:
In the estimate do not show the tax. Instead print out the estimate,
add a line I created in the Edit estimate terms window.
I have a line which reads
This estimate good for 30 days. Full payment net 30 days. Tax extra where applicable.
In this way the customer will know the price being quoted is before tax.
