3.85. Garbled text when sending .pdf estimate via email?

Customers that are receiving my PDF estimates as "MIME" attachments see instead of the estimate only garbled text inside the body of the email. It is happening with two specific folks, one on dial up AOL and the other DSL verizon. Is there anything I can check before creating the .pdf to ensure compatablity?

Ultimately, This is an issue with your customers' mail programs, not your PDF.

MIME is a standard method of encoding binary files and attaching them to an email - binary to text and back again. This happens to be the method your mail program uses when it sends the email to your customers.

EstiMate does the following: generate a PDF -> save it -> launch your mail program -> attach it.

Your mail program then: encodes it (apparently MIME) -> then sends it.

Their mail program: receives it -> fails to decode it -> and shows only garbled text.

Ultimately they need to enable the reading of MIME attachments in their mail program. Since their mail programs don't read MIME attachments, they are seeing the MIME text instead.
